    Oh No, We have Aptasia

So on one of the frags GinaReef got from the London frag show has Aptasia.

It's still a separate frag so it can be removed to be treated. Looking for the best, easiest way to clear it up.

Couple options depending on what the frag is.

You could remove the coral from the plug and reglue it to a new frag plug or rock. (Chisel or razor to remove)

You could use kalk (limewater) paste and a syringe, "feeding" it to the aiptasia to kill it.

Cut the aiptasia right off the plug using the options in the first suggestion, and then superglue over top of it in case any speck of flesh remained...

I agree with Nick, but personally have not had great success with kalk or aiptasia x. One thing to stress is that you shouldn't do this inside the tank because the anenome may release spores which will just make it a whole lot worse. Best would be to leave it in a separate tank for a while afterwards to see if it reappears. Good luck, IMO you're fighting an uphill battle to keep these out of your tank. I find aiptasia's relatively easy to contain, I worry more about the dreaded mojanos for which there seems to be no natural solution.

I've had aiptasia in every tank at some point. I had success with aiptasia x and peppermint shrimps for the hard to reach unable to find ones.

Removed coral from affected rock and glued to a new rock, old rock is now part of the flower garden or driveway.

Watching carefully for a few weeks

    Thanks guys
